Jeff Murr of Raleigh, NC

Jeff Murr is a platform engineer and technology leader based in Raleigh, NC. At present, he works as director of platform engineering for MetLife, where he oversees strategy and implementation initiatives for the company’s global technology and operations organization. As head of the open source platform and container team, Jeff Murr leads a group of engineers working to bring about consistency and operational efficiency to MetLife’s platform infrastructure.

Prior to directing platform engineering, Mr. Murr managed application platform engineering for MetLife, where he increased the company’s flexibility and speed while coordinating all aspects of the company’s vendor packaged applications. He also worked as a senior engineer for MetLife, during which time he oversaw shared and cloud application platforms.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, he dedicates time and resources to organizations including Habitat for Humanity of NC, which he serves as a regular volunteer. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children and keeping fit via running.
